Grow or die?

While one of our core values as a company and for me personally is “Grow or Die” (hardcore, yes I know)...

At the same time, even I get scared of the growth that is to come.

Perhaps the greatest and most revered act of courage is knowing that you’re headed into a season of growth, and going forth and forward with it.

Whether you identify as a Christian or not, around the world, Jesus is praised for knowing what was going to happen to him - knowing that betrayed, ridiculed, judged, crucified - and still going through with it anyway.

Why?

To serve.

Courage requires you to step up, at the moment, and show up, even when you don’t FEEL ready.

BUT, KNOWING IN ADVANCE THAT YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE TO FACE YOUR GREATEST FEARS - AND YOU STILL FORGE FORWARD...

THAT IS AN ACT OF REVERENCE.

Like the woman who forges ahead to face the man who raped her at his trial.

Like the parent who forges ahead when the diagnosis is “terminal” and they still won’t leave their child’s side.

Like the advocate who knows she will be mocked, ridiculed for standing up for what she believes, and still presses “SHARE” anyway, marching forward.

Courage comes in many forms. None of them are without fear. And all are a part of growth.

For fear and courage are not adversaries, they’re allies, traveling side by side.

Sure, one wants to run away at every turn (we know which one that is). But, the other has the influential power to actually take fear alongside for the greatest adventure of her life.

Courage will drag the protesting Fear through the battlefield of her dreams, shielding her right to voice her concern when necessary.

Courage serves fear with faith.

Courage serves to inspire.

COURAGE SERVES TO MOVE YOU FORWARD.

When my dad was in the hospital, I knew this could be it.

I called him to say everything I needed to say - and I said it all. The good. The bad. The ugly. The beautiful. The transformed.

And I knew, at that moment that my dad might not make it - I just knew.

And I knew that whatever happened, I would have to grow through it.

It wasn’t strength, because honestly, I’d never felt so depleted.

It was courage.

It is my courage that is my champion as I head forth into labor, birthing another baby, in a new country, in a new place we call home - away from family, and all our close friends back in the states.

It is Courage that is my cheerleader as I still take aligned action, moving my business Crown Yourself forward into the giant goals we have for this year and beyond.

It is Courage that is my ally as I continue to grieve and hold space for the dad that was.

Shakespeare said it best. “Courage be my friend.”

For she is mine. And I clutch her close, knowing that change is inevitable.

GROWTH IS CONSCIOUS.

And even though every many steps may feel like a daily trust-fall exercise, you are held, you are supported and even if you fall, you will not stay down for long.

For when Courage becomes your bestie, she will pick you up through ANYTHING life throws at you.

When you hold Courage close, you bravely speak your truth with full authenticity and love.

With Courage by your side, you become resilient, leaning on Her for strength, when you feel you cannot take another step.

Have the Courage to lean into your greatness.

HAVE THE COURAGE TO GO FORTH, FORWARD INTO YOUR VISION.

You are held.

You are supported.

Your reign is now.
