Feeling the pressure to perform right now - to do more in your business? To push harder? Does it feel like it’s stretching the walls of what you thought you were capable of?
...But, if we’re being honest, you like it...the pressure.
When it’s the right amount, it’s a rush to see what you can create, accomplish, and what can flow forward when there are external pressures - time, money, deadlines.
When an idea penetrates your mind, and it is the pressure that allows for the oh-so-good orgasm of genius to flow from your mind into physical reality.
During physical labor, there is the pressure of contractions, just as there are inevitably contractions throughout creation until what you’ve created is birthed into physical reality. Meaning…
The book is published.
The show is on Netflix.
The offer is being put out there.
The key to creating and creating consistently is to not just stop at one birthed-creation but to keep increasing the pressure to create and to continue creating.
One of the tenants of high performance is that they regularly raise their necessity to perform.
According to Parkinson’s law, “Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.”
Too much time equals too much space which means not enough pressure...I’m sure I don’t need to describe the graphics of how this is applied when it comes to the physical anatomy during intercourse.
No man likes to be called out for having a “SMALL” amount of pressure, after all.
When I see clients that have lost their motivation or are struggling with inspiration, a lot of times it’s because they’re suffocating creatively from comfort.
Maybe their business is sailing, not without its hiccups of course, but easily making $25K-$50K a month with steady cash flow, so they don’t really have to worry about it.
Maybe they’ve actually achieved everything they wanted - the nice house, the nice relationship, the nice bank account, and they’re starving for something beyond “nice.”
Maybe they’re already recognized as a leader in their industry - they’ve won a few awards, are working with some prestigious clients, been in all the leading publications, and they’re terrified of losing their reputation.
There’s no pressure to enlarge anything because they’ve already surpassed Physiological, Safety, Love, and Esteem in Maslow’s Hierarchy. It’s pretty freaking cush there!
And that’s where the motivation to push farther, to enhance the pressure, really...deep down...scares the crap out of you.
Because there’s the fear, that lingering conditioning from all those years of glorious pressure and struggle, where you remember what it was like to have those pressures of providing safety and for your immediate needs, where you remember the hardships of the struggle and all the time it took to build what you have spent so many years building, where you remember how long it took to cultivate all the loving, amazing relationships you have around you, where you remember all the years you were hungry to make a name for yourself.
As Jack Dawson in Titanic says, “When you’ve got nothin’, you’ve got nothin’ to lose.”
And there is a perception that if you apply pressure to actually climb all the way up the pyramid and beyond the needs of physiological, safety, love, and even esteem, that….
You could lose it all.
It’s lonely at the top.
The higher you climb, the farther you can fall.
And other B.S. stories that keep you from self-actualizing into your full potential, where motivation is limitless!
At every level, there is a different type of pressure to be added.
When you are struggling and in the hustle meet your physiological and safety needs you’re usually experiencing EXTERNAL PRESSURE.
Bills need to be paid. Food needs to be bought. Health needs to be managed. Breathing needs to be done.
When you’ve moved into a space of greater comfort and your physiological and safety needs are met, climbing up through Love/Belonging and Esteem requires INTERNAL PRESSURE.
You’ve got more space to breathe and relax, and that is where the enemy of comfort comes in.
This is where the stories that tell you…
❌ You should feel guilty for wanting more when you already have so much.
❌ Who are you to make more money? Want more accolades?
❌ Don’t raise your voice, make a fuss, make waves because then people won’t respect you.
And a whole other slew of B.S. other stories your Fear mind, the ego, will whisper to you to keep you playing small.
This is where you allow yourself to get it on with your ideas.
It’s up to you to generate the necessity, to raise your ambition, and to stoke that spark of an idea into a freaking inferno.
Too little pressure and you’ll lollygag and pace around comfortably until your soul is starving for motivation, for that ambitious, driven, fearlessness you used to have.
Some people live five, ten, 30+ years in this soul-crushing state.
Too much pressure and you’ll feel too stretched, and the joys of lovemaking to your ideas will hurt.
This is when people procrastinate - because they’ve let their ideas grow and grow in their mind, without unleashing them into the world to where they seem TOO BIG to even engage with.
And only YOU know what that is. Only you know how to create that “WOW-experience” that leaves your fingertips titillating with excitement from the pleasure of being lifted through the fears and the doubts of…
Will my basic needs be met if I do this?
Am I safe to do this?
Will people still like me if I do this?
Will this make me feel good? Will others value it if I do it?
To instead…
Because it feels good.
Because you were gifted this mission and you received it, embodied it, sexually transmuted, and unleashed it in the throes of passion.
Remember, your reign is now.
