“People tell me I’m too direct.” 

So often people misconstrue being direct for not caring.

It is because I am direct with you and a straight shooter that I care about you. 

LET YOUR YES MEAN YES, AND YOUR “NO” MEAN “NO.” 

One of the commitments I work to live by is…

IF IT’S NOT A ‘HELL YES’” - MEANING A JUMP UP IN THE AIR, OMG-I-AM-SO-EXCITED, DANCE-MY-ASS-OFF-EEEEEEEEEEEEK-YIPEE - THAN IT’S A “NO.”

This was a hard-fought lesson when I was a people-pleasing, please-everyone-love-me, addict’s daughter with daddy issues, but as I started to listen more to my soul, my heart, and trust my gut, and believe in myself more, I saw that me sacrificing my soul to please others served NO ONE. 

So I stopped. And I started saying “Yes” only to what I thought was 100% aligned. 

And, sure, sometimes, telling a friend a “no” or a client a “no” or telling a customer a “no” feels kinda crappy… at the moment. When I told my Pilates clients that I had to close my studio (aka a “no” to training them anymore), it felt sooooo freaking hard. I loved my clients. Some I’d been working with for nearly a decade. 

But, at the cost of my soul? Or my mission? Or my dreams?

TOTALLY WORTH IT. 

And actually, for my clients who became coaching clients, it actually ended up serving them MORE than just a good workout - it changed their life!

THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SAY YES TO YOUR SOUL, AND “NO” TO THE THINGS THAT ARE NOT IN ALIGNMENT WITH YOUR HIGHEST AND BEST.

Because your highest and best, is also everyone else’s highest and best, and it’s inspiring them to also live in their highest and best, which is inspiring others to live in their highest and best.

...And it ripples out from there. 

Recently I’ve been having a lot of wonderful 22-Minute Espresso Chats with my fellow leaders, business owners, entrepreneurs, and solopreneurs to see what people are doing to both survive and thrive through this time. 

I’ve been freaking LOVING them! I’m not the biggest fan of crowds, but put me in a 1:1 conversation, and, as I tell all my clients…

“WHEN I’M LIVE, I THRIVE.”

Now, I put myself out there, I make offers - yes it is me you see in your DM’s if you’re following me on Instagram, making the offer to you to sit down with you for a brief, fun, no-sales, 1:1 conversation about the state of your world and what your struggles and triumphs have been throughout this time. 

There are some who say ‘HECK YES! OMG, THIS IS THE SIGN I WAS HOPING FOR!”

There are others who ignore (or they don’t check their DMs). Totally cool. And then there are the “no’s’” or “thanks but I’ll pass.”

4 years ago when I was #DesperatelySeekingClients, that would have CRUSHED ME. 

But, now...

Now, I freaking celebrate it!

I LITERALLY TAKE IT AS A SIGN THAT THAT PERSON NOT ONLY CARES SO MUCH ABOUT MY TIME THAT THEY WOULD HONOR ME AS TO NOT WASTE IT. 

Why wouldn’t you celebrate that?!!

It’s also because I don’t do these calls because I need to. 

I don’t do these as a “strategy call” to try to enroll someone into my products and services, like so many other coaches out there and try to secretly sell. I sell - just off the call. 

BELIEVE ME, IF YOU WANT TO BUY SOMETHING FROM ME, THERE IS A CALL FOR THAT. 

The energy behind doing these calls is a “HELL YES” for connection in times of isolation.

I do them because I love connecting with my community. 

I love getting to know YOU, what you need, how I can serve and support you, learn from you, so we can rise and reign together. 

YOU BEING DIRECT WITH YOUR YES’S AND NO’S ARE THE BEGINNING OF YOUR BUSINESS BOUNDARIES. 

If you want your business to thrive, be direct, be honest and upfront.

With your Yes’s.

With your No’s.

With your clients.

With your intentions. 

With your offers.

With your marketing.

With your messaging.

And, most importantly…

WITH WHO YOU ARE. 

THAT is a sign that you care more, not less.

Remember, your reign is now.
