What to Do When You “Don’t Feel Ready”

Ever not “feel ready?” Like, someday, somewhere, out there in the future, there will be a day when you feel ready to take that leap, move to that country, start that business, find that relationship, have that baby.

Look, I can tell you honestly...

I don’t feel ready. For any of it.

But then again, I never did.

I didn’t feel ready to leave my ex.

I didn’t feel ready to become a partner in a quarter of a million-dollar start-up.

I didn’t feel ready to commit to a relationship with Spike.

I didn’t feel ready to be bought out of my eCommerce business.

I didn’t feel ready to hire a coach.

I didn’t feel ready to coach.

I didn’t feel ready to start another business.

I didn’t feel ready to start having sales calls.

I didn’t feel ready to have a baby.

I didn’t feel ready to move to Australia.

I didn’t feel ready to take my income to multiple 5-figure months.

I didn’t feel ready to double my income last year.

I didn’t feel ready to lose my dad.

I didn’t feel ready for ANY of it.

I sometimes still don’t.

I just fucking did it.

I took action.

I was scared for most of it.

Hell, especially about that whole giving birth thing!

THERE WILL NEVER BE A TIME EVER IN THE HISTORY OF YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU WILL “FEEL READY” TO GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL, TO SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITIES, TO GO FOR YOUR DREAMS, TO CREATE THAT THING, TO LAUNCH THAT THING, TO START.

There will never be a time when you “feel ready” and have all your ducks neatly lined up in a row to be able to leap forward. Ever.

There will never be a time when you feel ready to change.

I didn’t feel ready to have my dad die.

I still lost him anyway. I had to face it anyway. I had to and still am going through it anyways.

Because courage doesn’t wait for you to be ready.

COURAGE MEETS YOU IN THE MOMENTS OF UNREADINESS AND SAYS, “SO YOU WANTED TO GROW INTO YOUR FUTURE SELF, HUH? HERE’S HOW.”

And She takes you by the hand and guides you into EVERY area that fucking scares the shit out of you, to face your shadows, heal your past, and move forward into your own greatness.

You’re not going to feel ready. You’re not going to BE ready.

You’re just going to have to GO and TRUST that you will be able to figure it out.

TRUST that you are supported.

TRUST that you have everything you need right now to just take the next right step.

TRUST that you will just do, as Frozen 2 says, “the next right thing.”

The universe only gives you what you are capable of growing through.

You will never feel ready to lose someone.

You will never feel ready to divorce someone.

You will never feel ready to leave someone.

You will never feel ready to bring into this world someone new.

You just do.

It takes courage to CHOOSE more, to CHOOSE differently, to CHOOSE better, to CHOOSE the unknown.

YOU CHOOSE.

And, you act accordingly with courage.

I do not feel ready to have this baby. I feel scared, achy, a little nervous to be honest about doing the whole birthing labor process. I feel nervous about the new family support structures I have in place, ones that don’t involve grandma and grandpa, because one is no longer on this earth, and the other can’t even get into this country.

I have to trust the new.

I have to trust the unknown.

AND I HAVE TO TRUST IN MY ABILITY TO FIGURE IT OUT AS I GO.

And every time the fear of “not feeling ready” contracts me into fear, I do the same as I will do when the real, physical contractions come.

I breathe through it.

I dig deep.

I connect with my Highest Self.

I lean back on that trust that I have built with my body, with myself, and with the Universe that I am fully supported and able to figure out, breathing through it as I go, staying ever-present.

If you keep waiting to be ready, your life will always be on hold - waiting in the limbo of “someday - when life is now.

START NOW.

For that is all you have.

This moment is a gift, and ready or not, life is happening for you right now.

Will you seize on what life is giving you?

Will you leap into what you are being blessed to do now?

You’ll never be ready to crown yourself. You JFDI as my client, Stuart, says.

You just fucking do it.

You claim your power.

AND YOU DECLARE, FEAR HAS NO PLACE HERE.

For that’s all your excuse of waiting to be ready is - fear disguised as logic and all the completely reasonable reasons as to why you’re not ready yet.

But those are just fears disguised.

It’s either fear on your throne or you.

Strip it off her “ready” disguise and you will see, Fear is still there waiting for you to have the COURAGE to kick her out of your kingdom and off your throne.

Do so.

Now.

Lean in.

Crown Yourself.

Remember, your reign is now.
