Who Do You BE Now?
It is in the face of chaos on and crisis that who you are, who you have been working on becoming comes to light.
This is when the rubber meets the road, sweetheart.
WHO DO YOU BE WHEN THE WORLD FEELS LIKE IT IS FALLING APART?
Who do you BE when fear smacks the world in the face with a two-by-four?
Coronavirus is one thing. Yes, it is contagious and there are fears when it comes to that.
And, sure, you may have some fears about staying at home for a few weeks cooped up with the fam.
But, the financial impact of shutting businesses and schools down when 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck will hit...hard.
The fact that the stock markets just hit their largest dip worldwide since 1987.
The fact that the Federal Reserve just 96 hours ago invested $1.5 Trillion dollars in short-term loans. (HINT: the last time they did that...it was 2008.)
THE FEAR OF A GLOBAL CRISIS IS ONLY BEGINNING.
And, the mentors, experts, doctors and top-level investors that I listen to are saying that righting the economy after containment and quarantine will take at minimum 90 days.
For people living paycheck-to-paycheck, for brick-and-mortar businesses - restaurants, bars (which have notoriously low margins) along with everyone working in them, the next 90 days are going to be a financial quarantine.
Are you prepared for that?
I’m not here to spread fear.
I’m telling you…Have faith, love.
This is the time for awakening.
THIS IS WHEN ALL THAT WORK YOU’VE DONE ON YOURSELF GOES INTO THE ARENA.
You are a warrior.
You can get through this.
We will get through this.
But ONLY if we take action now.
If we show up for each other.
If we continue to do business, as good-hearted, mission-minded, purpose-driven leaders, supporting each other, partnering, collaborating, and innovating.
NOW is the time to act.
NOW is the time to be a fucking warrior for possibility.
NOW, more than ever is the time to innovate.
Winter is coming.
And the beauty about that is that Spring ALWAYS follows.
CREATION ALWAYS FOLLOWS DESTRUCTION.
Some of the greatest businesses and empires, monoliths that you know today were built during the season of winter - Facebook, Amazon, Google, the list goes on.
Now, is the time to lead.
Now is when people will be looking to you BECAUSE you do things differently because you’re FUCKING REVOLUTIONARY.
And you lead this way, with this level on intention, BECAUSE of fear.
Courage and fear are allies.
YOU cannot have courage without fear.
YOU see the fear and you forge forward in faith.
If you’re following my Instagram, you know, I’m over here in Australia with my family, on what was supposed to be a three-week experience. My hubby was appearing at a convention down here...yes, a convention. We were then, supposed to enjoy a relaxing vacay as my parents flew over the Gold Coast to meet us.
While in Melbourne two weeks ago, my hubby and I joked about living “down unda” for a while. We absolutely fell in love with this country. The people are so kind, the grocery stores are fully stocked...except for the toilet paper.
And not ironically, we may be stuck here.
We’ll see.
Whatever happens though...
I AM OF THE DEEP BELIEF THAT EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING FOR ME. FOR YOU. FOR ALL OF US.
I am a warrior for possibility.
That’s innovation.
From a crappy broke mindset (and bank account) back in 2015 when a global issue like this would have had me spiraling into complaining and reacting, to sitting on a balcony in our AirBnB in the Gold Coast enjoying bubbly water with a fully stocked toilet paper cubby with my family down here as well.
And I have the security of having a business that supports that lifestyle where I can live wherever I land...or am quarantined.
It is my deepest desire to support you through this season and into innovation.
Whether that’s innovating your mindset from fear to faith or innovating the way you do business now that you’re #socialdistancing at home.
Do NOT do this alone.
Do NOT try to figure it out on your own.
